Hi I'm Gina

I love the mountains, the ocean, riding quads with family and friends and Disneyland. I love my life and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I've lived in the Arizona desert all my life and I love it! I've been married for 35 wonderful years and although I have a very small immediate family, my extended family is large and we have lots of fun together! Our family enjoys riding quads in the mountains or at the beach as often as we can get away. Disneyland is my happy place when I just need to laugh and feel like a kid. I find a lot of joy in my job working with preschool children with developmental delays. I love my family, great friends, my Savior and the Gospel of Jesus Christ!

Why I am a Mormon

I have been an active member of the church all my life and although I knew it was true as a teenager, it wasn't until I married and started a family that I was truly converted. I had to make the decision to continue to do all the things I did as a youth out of habit or because I knew that this was the Lord's church. I'm a Mormon because my prayers have been answered. I'm a Mormon because I know for myself that this gospel is true and that Joseph Smith restored our Saviors church upon the earth again. I'm a Mormon because it makes me incredibly happy and brings me peace during the tough times. I know that I am a daughter of God and that he loves me and is always mindful of me. Everyday my happiness deepens and my understanding of my purpose on earth is expanded as I follow my Savior, Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

Being a Mormon is a way of life for me. In everything I do I hope to be an example of what and who a Mormon is, but in reality I know I have a long way to go. I go to church every Sunday and support family members in activities at church that they need to attend. At church most people have a "calling" where they freely serve the church and members of the church. Right now my husband is serving as a Bishop and my calling is Stake Young Women's President. Working with the youth is my favorite thing to do! They keep me busy, young at heart and I learn so much from their examples and testimonies. I serve with other women in the area who teach young women ages 12-18. Every summer we have a Young Women's Camp where we get away to the mountains for a few days with about 150 young women and leaders, and teach and learn how to be self sufficient in many situations in the outdoors. Most importantly, though, we become closer to our Heavenly Father and His Son, Jesus Christ through experiences of prayer and scripture time, talks and programs in which we feel the Spirit of the Holy Ghost testifying truth. It is one of my most favorite things I get to do in my calling!! We also provide dances every month for the young women and young men (ages 14-18). This is a fun social time for the young people with clean, wholesome music and moral environment. We provide many other wholesome and fun activities for our young people to help built their testimonies and friendships such as Youth Conferences, service projects, sporting and cultural events. I love working with the youth!
