Hi I'm Jett

I received the award for Most Outstanding Graphic Design Student. I am still learning new skills. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Throughout my highschool career I always dreamed of receiving the highest honor for Graphic Design. I worked extremely hard to learn everything I could, spending endless hours watching tutorials and improving my talents. I had no idea that my talents would be used to serve the lord.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because it brings an overwhelming sense of community and family to my life. I love going to institute and learning about the scriptures and finding a way in my life that each story relates to. I love coming to church and learning skills like public speaking and teaching small children. Being a nursery teacher helps me to prepare to be a mom someday, and brings so much joy into my life by helping them with a variety of crafts. I am mormon because I want to be numbered with the righteous and be known for my endurence to resist temptation. I love the comfort the scriptures bring into my life when i need reassurence. The Prophet's guidence really helps me remember my potential and tells me the areas in my life I should improve, and warnings for upcoming temptations.

How I live my faith

When I was in my Graphics classes, my classmates would try to provoke me into disowning my beliefs and try to persuade me to live a carefree lifestyle that they thought I should have. In those moments I was thankful I had started the day out with seminary that helped me feel the spirit so I would know what to say in response. On most days in those classes, the other students would get sidetracked from their work because of their inappropiate conversations, not wanting to be a part of that helped me focus on the task at hand. I learned dedication from the Young Women's Personal Progress program (a long term goals program that helps with scripture study and improving talents) in the church, which sometimes worked hand in hand with my Graphic Design goals. Over time people started calling me for designs for various events, including Girl's Camp and Youth Conference shirts. It felt amazing that my talents helped bring unity to large groups of youth. I loved how the designs helped them remember their spirtual experiences at those events, and got schoolmates asking about what the designs meant. I am blessed that I can help others and that Christ helps me improve my skills and knowledge of the Gospel everyday.

Why are Mormons asked to donate 10% of their income to their Church?

Jett
We give 10% of our income back to the church because the Lord has given us everything to begin with. We obey the commandment, and receive the blessings by the church buildings we meet in and our beautiful temples. It helps others globally, and we know that 100% of the money will go to a good cause guaranteed. It is my way of helping those in need. Instead of giving a handout to anyone on the street that holds a sign, I choose to help those that help themselves. I know that instead of a handout, its a hand-up, and whenever I need a hand-up, others will be there to help me. Show more Show less
