Hi I'm Tinesh

I grew up in India. A certain pull brought me to America where I found The Church...Proud to be a father of 3 wonderful girls!

About Me

I am a keen photographer having one international award and one coffee-table book to my credit. I ran a bookstore for many years, now I concentrate of my longstanding business of record preservation. I am a husband to a lively wife and a father to 3 girls - one of them recently married. There is never a dull moment in my home. My family is my treasure! I love listening to peaceful as well as peppy music, reading, traveling, browsing the web. I enjoy having good friends! I am a graduate in B.Com (Hons.) and B. Ed. and have training in Law and Computer Technology but I have always wanted to work for myself and that's what I have done most of my working life.

Why I am a Mormon

“You may surround any man or woman with all the wealth and glory that the imagination of man can grasp, and are they satisfied? No. There is still an aching void.” - Wilford Woodruff This statement that I recently read reflects the void that I felt much through my youth. I would often ponder - If I were to receive all the wealth and the glory of the world, would that satisfy? Or would it give any purpose to life? The only answer I got is “No!” I had deep longings that I could neither explain nor satisfy. Simultaneously I had this deep desire to be in the USA. In 1984 I found myself in New York city. An amazing coincidence put me on a bus to San Fransisco. In Salt Lake City, a lady got on the bus and sat next to me. She introduced me to the Church. She invited me to her home for a few days where she and her husband taught me about the Church. I liked what I heard and since I was sincerely interested in finding out the truth and since the people were friendly and sincere I stayed in that area . I did not believe everything immediately - nevertheless, I did not find anything wrong with what they taught and I said to myself “May be it’s true.” I started going to Church, started praying and reading the Book of Mormon. At their invitation, I even joined the Church to find out more from the inside. It was about a year later that I came to know that the Book of Mormon was true. A special feeling and a voice in my mind told me that it was true. That experience which I can never forget nor deny was the foundation of my conversion to the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I love the standards given of God to mankind. It is an anchor to my life in a world of shifting values! I have finally found purpose in life by learning of the Plan of Salvation. I rejoice in the hope of eternal life. I am grateful for the Church that teaches these and other truths in their purity. Indeed I am grateful to God for leading me to this Chuch in my youth!!

How I live my faith

I live my faith by avoiding taking harmful substances in my body, by being honest with everyone, by holding the marriage sacred. A different, higher kind of love and commitment abides in our family because we know that we can be and we must be together forever! I love having assignments in the church - without earthly reward or compensation. And wherever reasonable, I like to help others, even outside the Church.
