Hi I'm Aria

I do music. I'm a student. I have great dreams. I love life. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I grew up in Nevada. I get to study at BYU- Hawaii. I am a Music Major. I play the Oboe. I play the piano and the Organ. I sing. There are few things that I love more than singing, full voice, in the byuh concert choir. I want to be a Speech Pathologist, most likely in an Elementary school. I love going to the Temple. I have no ball-bat coordination; but what I lack in the volleyball/soccer/anything else with a ball, I make up for in water sports. I am a swimmer. I coached Synchronized Swimming. I'm a water skiing, parasailing, wakeboarding, snorkeling, kayaking, surfing beach lover. I'm probably part fish. I work for my school's ONLINE department where I get to help people from all over the world gain an education. I am in Cambodia right now to build an organization, called ICHope, which is run and owned by fellow students. Through the organization, I teach English, computer skills, and music at an orphanage here. I am so blessed to associate with these incredible souls and feel God's love for them as we work together. I am related to some of the most amazing people on the planet and I look up to them in so many ways. Both my immediate and extended family members are a great influence on my life. It isn't always easy, but I love the way I live.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in The Church. I have ancestors that sacrificed much to cross the plains with the first Mormon Pioneers. I come from strong families and good parents. This all helps my faith, but that isn't why I'm a Mormon. I am a Mormon because I know that God lives. I know that He loves me. I know that, with Him, I can do great things. I am a Mormon because our teachings make sense to me. I am a Mormon because I know we have a living Prophet of God. I am a Mormon because I know the Prophets speak the Word of God. The way I choose to live allows me to be truly happy. I am a Mormon because, when I sing or play, I can feel the Spirit around me. I am a Mormon because I cannot imagine a life without The Gospel. It would be like a life without water- I couldn't do it. I am a Mormon because I have seen The Gospel change the lives of my close friends. I have seen the way people live without it. I have seen people who are broken, tired, depressed, confused, people who have lost themselves- I don't want to live like that. I chose to continue being a Mormon and I have never regretted it.

How I live my faith

I try to be like Christ is. I know that I have a great capacity for good. I know that I am strong- physically, mentally, what have you, my experiences have proved that I am. I try to serve without guile. I do good works. I live the way God wants me to. I make time for learning. I study. I do what is asked of me. I keep promises. I love those around me and try to be aware of their needs. I am happy. There are times when I am not this way; I make mistakes, but that is alright so long as I trust God and keep trying.

What are some things that tell you there is a God?

All of the beauty around me. When I go on a hike, or go to the beach, or see a sea turtle, when the sunset is pink and orange, when the clouds move fast, when rain falls in sheets, when the sun warms you to your toes, when I learn about the miracle that is our bodies, when I see the needs of others fulfilled, when I do something I thought impossible, when I get to know people who impress me- I know there is a God. When I sing or play a song that speaks of Christ or God's love, shivers are sent down my spine and I get chicken-skin. I know that God lives. When a bad day gets better I know there is a God. When I'm able to help someone out of a bad situation I know there is a God. "All things denote there is a God; yea, even the earth...and its motion, yea, and also all the planets which move in their regular form do witness that there is a Supreme Creator."
