Hi I'm Meagan

I'm a world traveler, a Systems Engineer, and a wife and mother. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I live near Bangkok, Thailand with my husband and two sweet babies. I grew up in Washington state with my five amazing siblings. I received my Bachelor's Degree in Management Information Systems from Brigham Young University. Prior to my last semester of college, I was in Rome on a business trip. My LDS coworker convinced me to pray about whether I should be a missionary. I finally did and knew immediately that I needed to be a missionary. I had grand visions of where in the world I was needed. But, it was decided that I was needed in Southern California instead. Being a missionary, I had the amazing privilege of testifying of Jesus Christ everyday and it solidified my faith in Him. When my missionary service was done, I moved to Washington D.C. I had decided at age three that I would be married in the DC temple so I figured I better get there. I worked for the US Government and traveled around the world upgrading computer systems in US Embassies. I had amazing experiences abroad. I met my husband at church in VA. After two years of friendship, lots of travel for both of us, and him moving to England, I finally realized that he is the man of my dreams. We were married FOREVER in the Washington D.C. temple almost four years ago. I joined him in England for a year and a half before we returned home. Our daughter and son were born in Virginia and are the lights of our life. I quit my job to be a full time mom and am so grateful for the time I have with my kids.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day-Saints. That doesn't mean my choices were made for me. It just means I had a different perspective when dealing with the same choices everyone else faces in this life. My parents showed me what it was like to be safe, secure, happy, and loved. Early on, I recognized the confidence that comes when you make decisions with Jesus Christ. I felt the power of the temple and received answers to my prayers while reading from both the Bible and The Book of Mormon, Another Testament of Jesus Christ. And I felt the absence of the Holy Spirit when I made choices that were contrary to the teachings of Jesus Christ. Frankly, it's just easier to go through this crazy life with a close relationship with Jesus Christ, which only comes from listening and heeding his counsel and teachings.

How I live my faith

The beauty of the Church of Jesus Christ is that we have all committed to take upon us the name of Jesus Christ and do His work. We are all ministers if you will. We are given opportunities to serve our brothers and sisters in the gospel and community. I am currently the teacher for the kids ages 18 months to three years old. It is a joy to be with the sweet, innocent children as they learn about Jesus Christ.

How can we increase our faith in Jesus Christ?

James 2:17 reads "Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone." Faith is not just believing in something. We must do our part and act on that faith. When the Lord answers our prayers, we need to follow what he teaches us. Then our faith grows and we come to know Jesus Christ on a more personal level. Show more Show less
