Hi I'm Becca

My name is Becca. I love to read, visit with my friends and to sing. This gospel has blessed my life in so many wonderful ways!

About Me

I enjoy quilting, reading, and playing with my siblings and niece and nephews. I have grown up in the church, but just like anyone else, I've had to gain a testimony of my own. When I was about 16 years old, I needed guidance. I was going through the normal teenage things, boys, drama, heartbreak, school, etc... And I just felt like I was drowning. In church classes they'd always taught us that when we have those times, we should turn to the words of God - the scriptures. So I did. And I realized that this is what I was missing. I realized that this gospel could be a blessing in my life, if I allowed it to be. God wouldn't force blessings on me, but I had to accept them. And it certainly has been a blessing! I have grown such a strong relationship with my Heavenly Father and my Savior, Jesus Christ and I want to share that same joy with everyone that I come in contact with. And I am doing that by serving a full-time mission in Macon, Georgia!

Why I am a Mormon

Even though I was raised in the church, I gained my own testimony of the doctrine of the church. When I was in my teenage years, I realized that I needed to figure out for myself what I believed in. I didn't wnat to keep going to a church that I didn't believe was Christ's true church. And so I did what anyone else who wants to know the truth should do. I started reading the Book of Mormon and I started praying about it. A testimony doesn't come all at once, it comes very gradually, and sometimes you don't realize you have gained a testimony of something until you step back and think about it. Over time, after studying for a while, I got discouraged, thinking 'man, when am I going to get an answer to my prayers? When is God going to give me my answer?' and I started re-analyzing my beliefs and I realized something. I do have a testimony of this gospel. I do believe that this is Christ's church. That was so reassuring to me! And I have continued to grow my testimony through study of the scriptures and words of the prophets and prayer.

How I live my faith

Currently I am living my faith by serving a mission for the church in - an 18 month time where I devote all my time to sharing the gospel. And I LOVE it! There is a joy that this gospel brings that can't be denied. It has been so fulfilling, and such a blessing in my life to serve the people here in the Georgia, Macon Mission. My favorite feeling is when we are having a gospel discussion with someone and they are praying to our Heavenly Father about what we are teaching them and they feel something. They know that what we are talking about is true, and they have a desire to act on the feelings they have and come closer to Christ throught baptsm by the proper authority. That's what is so wonderful about this gospel. It is such a blessing to be a part of, and it's something that makes you so happy in your life. It has been such a blessing to me and my family, and that's why I want to share it with others. I want them to have the same happiness that I enjoy. This is a gospel and a happiness to share! :)

Are Mormons Christians?

Becca
The name of our church is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. We are very much so Christians! Jesus Christ is our Savior and Redeemer. We believe that He sacrificed His life and performed the atonement so that we may be saved if we live by His teachings. The Book of Mormon, another book of holy scripture, is another testament of Jesus Christ. Just like the Old and New Testaments, the Book of Mormon talks about Christ and His teachings to the people in the Americas. Show more Show less
