Hi I'm Josh

I'm a father, a teacher, I play drums in a band, I've usually got a wakeboard or snowboard strapped to my feet and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love being a dad. I have young 3 kids. We have a lot of fun playing in the forests and lakes of Northern Idaho. I teach History, Social Sciences and Chinese on-line to high school kids throughout the state. I enjoy carpentry and have built my share of houses. I've done a fair bit of traveling in Asia, Australia, Guam, Canada, Mexico and all over the US. I really enjoy discovering the great things this world has to offer.

Why I am a Mormon

The short answer is that I was born a Mormon but that doesn't really tell the whole story. I had the priviledge of growing up in this church and learning to love it. There was a time when I wanted to make sure that what I had been taught was true. I looked very critically at my life up to that point and found that everything good in my life had come from my choosing to follow Christ's teachings and my association with this church. I read the Book of Mormon and felt in my heart that it was the word of God and that the principles that it teaches were a blessing in my life. Over the years my testimony of the truthfulness of the Gospel of Christ and of this church has grown with me. It seems that every day the truth is confirmed to me in some small way. Like the way I feel when I read the scriptures, pray with my family, go to church and feel the love and fellowship of the Lord and the other members of the congregation. I am so thankful to our Heavenly Father that I was allowed to know these truths from my youth.

How I live my faith

I have recently been asked to be the leader of the young men's organization of our local church unit. I am very excited to work with these boys and to help them to prepare to face the rest of their lives armed with the truth and knowledge of Heavenly Father's plan for them. I remember how helpful it was to me as a teenager to know that there is a God who cares for us and wants us to be happy and successful. I hope that I can help those that I work with to feel the same.
