Hi I'm Steve

I grew up in Denver, Colorado, USA. I have a degree in Electrical Engineering and a MBA. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am half Japanese and half American. I love both heritages. I am very happily married and have five children. I have a degree in Electrical Engineering and an MBA. I enjoy hunting, fishing, shooting, reading and just about everything that I can do with my family. I love the beach, but don't live near one. I like geeky things and I hold a U.S. patent. My favorite authors are Tom Clancy and Louis L'amour. My favorite movie is 'Master and Commander'. I love to cook and eat Japanese food.

Why I am a Mormon

I have a happy heart when I live gospel principles that Jesus taught. The LDS church gives me a center to achieve my yearnings and desires which I think are common to all of us. It keeps me mindful of who I am, and who God is. It lifts the burdens that I would have to carry myself, and teaches me how to bring smiles and cheer to others. Through this I'm able to build meaningful and rewarding relationships with family and friends.

How I live my faith

I am grateful for every day, and every breath. I try to follow the examples of Jesus Christ by being kind to all and not do things that bring pain to others. Even with the little things like standing in line at the store, being kind or rude has a big impact on how people feel and may impact how they treat someone else that day. It's the Golden Rule. How would I feel if someone did ______ to me? I'm not perfect, but I repent when needed and start over hopefully a better man and give it another shot. Gospel instruction on Sundays along with personal study and prayer helps me see where I need to make adjustments. Callings to serve as a Sunday school teacher, Boy Scout leader, and eccleseastical leader provide opportunities to serve and extend love to others which brings so much more back to me.
