Hi I'm Crystal Flake

I am a small town girl from Tennessee. I am in college, I love to sing and play guitar and honestly, life is absolutely wonderful.

About Me

Hello! I am a small town country girl from Tennessee. I love being outside on my farm and riding horses. I am a student attending BYU. I love to sing, play guitar and piano, soccer, basketball, volleyball, and country dancing is also a favorite pastime. The thing I care about most is my family and I strive to one day be able to raise my own family on the same principles my parents raised me on. I feel that life is too short to be sad and to spend time dwelling on the bad things in life. I believe the good in this world far surpasses the bad! I love my friends, from my hometown and my new life here. I love to meet new people and experience new things, I love my simple life in the country, but I do want to explore the world and see all of God's beautiful creations. I love flowers, they make me so happy. Life is just grand.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents raised me in this church and as a kid I depended on their testimony. As I have grown older I realized I needed to gain my own testimony of this church and find out for myself if it is true. I am a Mormon because this gospel makes me so happy and I can feel the love my Savior, Jesus Christ, has for me when I pray and read my scriptures. Everything makes sense and all the pieces fit together. I understand what is expected of me and try to do as Jesus Christ would do everyday in every situation. I love my Savior and He is my very best friend. I love the Bible and the Book of Mormon. I have read the Book of Mormon and it is very special to me. At the end of the Book of Mormon, I was challenged to take all that I have read and pray about it to know if it is true. I accepted the challenge and prayed to my Heavenly Father. I'll never forget kneeling down as a young girl and asking my Father if what I read was true. My soul began sing with happiness and I couldn't stop smiling. The feelings I felt are indescribable. There is no doubt that this book is true and I now know the Book of Mormon to be another testament of Jesus Christ, going hand and hand with the Bible to fully teach me the principles to one day make it back to live with my Father in Heaven. I am a Mormon because the knowledge of this gospel makes me so immensely happy, I wouldn't trade it for anything.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by living the standards set forth by the leaders in my church. Being in college has left it up to me to decide how I want to live my life and who I want to be. I live my faith by being happy. There are so many trials that aim to bring me down, but God has so fully blessed my life that it would be a shame to waste my precious moments here in sorrow. I love to serve others and put myself to good use. God has a purpose for each of us and I want to fulfill mine. I also chose to dress modestly and appropriately. This is how I show respect for my Heavenly Father, the young men around me, and most importantly, myself. I choose to not drink, not smoke, not swear, to dress modestly, and to watch and listen to appropriate entertainment. Honestly, I am not perfect. I do my best to read my scriptures every day and pray as often as I can. I make mistakes but I know that I can be forgiven through the Atoning sacrifice of Jesus Christ. Life is so beautiful and so sacred. Every moment counts and spending time in sin or guilt is crazy talk. You can be forgiven and you can move on. Happiness is given through the peace repentance brings. You know what they say, the only person you should strive to be better than is who you were yesterday. God is helping us grow. My Family is the most important thing to me and I know that I can be with them forever, this knowledge makes me so happy! They seriously are so special to me. I would not be who I am without their love and guidance.
