Hi I'm Susan

I grew up in Seattle, Washington. I joined the Church while working as a speech pathologist in Adelaide, South Australia.

About Me

My name is Susan. I'm married and the mother of five adult children. I have nine grandchildren. I have a Master's Degree and am a Speech Language Pathologist. I love to read, study, walk, hike, play games, go to musical theater productions and go on vacations. I am a breast cancer survivor, and I love life. I like spending time with my family and friends. I am half Italian.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a convert to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I have always been a religious person and loved Heavenly Father and His son, Jesus Christ. I have always believed in the Atonement, freely given for all mankind by Jesus. When I prayed about the Book of Mormon and this Church, I knew with every fiber of my being that both were true. But since becoming a Mormon, I know these things in a much more personal way. God the Father is literally my Heavenly Father. Life is eternal and He has known me and loved me since before I was born. If He knows when a sparrow falls, he knows me, for I am one of his daughters. This life is my chance to prove that I love Him and will follow His son, Jesus Christ. Jesus died for my sins and set the example for how I try to live my life. I'm far from perfect, but I know that Jesus will make up for what I lack, and that I am better because of Him. Jesus and Heavenly Father are real and want the best for all of us on this earth. I know that God is always the same, and he did not put us here on earth without providing a way for all to succeed. We have a living Prophet who speaks for God, and I try to follow what he teaches. This earth is a gift, as is my life, and all that I hold dear. This is my testimony, in the name of Jesus Christ, amen.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to follow the commandments of God. I attend my church meetings, which include Worshiping God and Jesus Christ, singing their praises, renewing my covenants weekly, studying the Bible and Book Of Mormon, and learning how to be a true follower of Christ. I study the scriptures at home. I serve in church callings. I've taught both children and adults. I've worked with Cub Scouts and Young Women. I've been in leadership positions and I've served in the Nursery. I'm a visiting teacher, and a member of the largest women's group in the world. It would be difficult to separate my life from my Church membership, because they are wrapped up in each other. I try to do as the Savior would do in my family, at church, at work, and even when I meet people out in the community.
