Hi I'm Doug

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a college student who at the moment does little more than eat, sleep, work, date, and schoolwork. I want to get back into ceramics. I loved the class I took in high school. After I started learning how to use the potter's wheel, I started going in early during lunch to work on the wheel. I would also go in again after my last class ended because I liked it so much. I felt proud and a sense of accomplishment when I made things that were unique which I could keep and use at home.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised by parents of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints; growing up I recognized many blessings that came from doing what Jesus asks. Still, it used to be a bit of a jump accepting that God organized apostles etc. again. I am so happy that my parents had taught me to trust in God - It is such a wonderful feeling when I could feel God's love for me and His willingness to specifically guide me through His answering of specific questions I had.

How I live my faith

There have been several verses in my mind recently. First - the one that basically says that people will recognize we are Jesus's disciples when we love others. Second - in the sermon on the mount Jesus says that those who show mercy will be shown mercy. I believe I feel more peace when I do my best to act in a way that helps other people know that they are cared for. I don't know how to say it more specifically than that, but its what makes me feel most content when I contemplate how God would think of my life.
