Hi I'm Elee

I'm the mother of four children. I grew up in a musical family. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My name is Elee. I am the mother of 3 wild, fun boys and a sweet little baby girl with Down Syndrome. I don't have many hobbies. In fact when people ask what I like to do for fun the only thing I can think of is how much I love being with my family. I grew up in a large family with 6 brothers and 1 sister. Growing up in a large family was a lot of fun..crazy, but a lot of fun. I'm still not sure how my mom and dad survived those years! Music has always been a big part of my life. At the age of 8 years old I began working at my Grandma's music store. I remember running the cash register and having to stand on a step stool so people could see me over the counter. This was so exciting to me and I loved earning my own money. It seemed as though people either tipped me because they thought I was so cute or lectured me about the child labor laws. LOL I worked at my Grandma's store until I had my children and even now still help out every once in a while. Our family business blessed my life in so many ways. I learned many skills and met many good, talented people

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up a member of the Church. I have always known that the church is true because I feel it in my heart as I pray to my Heavenly Father. The gospel has taught me that Heavenly Father has a plan for me. Sometimes the plan he has for us is different than what we would have imaged it to be. After my husband and I were married for just a few months we adopted a sweet little 18 month old boy. This was not in our plan but the spirit testified to us that this little boy was suppose to be in our family. Our oldest son who is now 9, has blessed our family more that I can even begin to say. This was not in our plans, however, the Lord truly knows what he's doing. This past year we were blessed with a sweet baby girl. When our baby was born I noticed that she looked a little different than our boys. After the delivery the doctor informed me that our baby had Down Syndrome. I knew nothing about having a special needs baby and this was not what I had planned. I remember looking at her and feeling so sad. I did not recognize her. The next morning I was finally able to hold our baby girl. Although I didn’t recognize her physical appearance, as I held her, I could recognize her spirit. I could feel her strong spirit and knew that Heavenly Father had entrusted us with one of his sweet little angels. I felt so many emotions that day. I felt overwhelmed, humbled, scared, but most of all so blessed. I know now that this baby was sent to our home to teach us about Love. She has taught me so much about the Plan of Salvation. I know that when we leave this life we will be resurrected and have the opportunity to be reunited with our families. Sometimes I image what it will be like to see our baby girl after this earth life. I can only image how beautiful she will be, not only physically but spiritually! The Lord knows what he's doing. I know that as we put our trust in him, he will take our hand and lead us!

How I live my faith

The church gives us many opportunities to give service in the community, to our neighbors and at church. Right now I have the opportunity to work with and teach 7 & 8 year old children. This blesses my life. Sometimes I feel like they teach me more than I teach them. Children are the best examples of Love. This is probably why the Savior asks us to "become like little children".
