Hi I'm Corbin

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a husband and a father to three sons and one daughter. Working mostly from home gives me the opportunity to spend a lot of time with them. I often get to drive the kids to and from school and they get a kick out of that, as many of their friends dads do not get that chance. I enjoy soccer and have played indoor and outdoor for most of my life. My boys also play soccer and that has given me the chance to coach them. My work sometimes requires travel and so I have had the opportunity to see different parts of the world. I speak Portuguese and Spanish.

Why I am a Mormon

Being born to parents who were members of the church was the main influence on my decision to be baptized a member of the LDS church. In my teenage years my older brother went on a mission, and at that point I had to make a decision about whether or not I had the faith to do the same. I had a basic knowledge of the gospel of Jesus Christ but I needed to gain a witness of the truth from the Holy Ghost. With the desire to know for myself, I spent time reading the scriptures and praying to know if what I was doing was right. Upon praying for specific answers as to whether or not the Book of Mormon was true and whether Joseph Smith was a prophet, I received undeniable witnesses from the Holy Ghost confirming my beliefs. From that time I have continued to grow in understanding and have made other covenants with my Heavenly Father. Every week I am blessed to be able to partake of the sacrament in church, seek forgiveness for my shortcomings, and worship the Savior in gratitude for his love and mercy. I worship with my family and friends, and I appreciate the other members in my ward who teach me and my children about the gospel each week.

How I live my faith

My calling, or responsibility, in my ward right now is to assist the full time missionaries in my area by teaching the gospel and finding those interested in learning more about our faith. Participating in my calling is an opportunity to share my faith and to strengthen it. In the past I have served as a teacher and a leader in the church's mens organization. I have had many different opportunities for service within the church from which I have learned many valuable lessons. Serving in my community is made easier through my church membership also. Many community service opportunities are organized by local church members and participating helps me take part in the betterment of my community, giving me a sense of accomplishment and knowledge that I can make a difference as part of a large group of dedicated people.
