Hi I'm Alex

I grew up in North Carolina lived in California for two years, and now attend NC State. God is great, and I'm a Mormon

About Me

I was born and raised in North Carolina, where I lived until I left to serve a mission in California, which was one of the best experiences of my entire life. Right now I attend NC State University, where I'm studying Psychology and Business, with a plan to eventually become a psychological therapist. I enjoy playing video games, watching movies, playing Dungeons and Dragons, and hello there, I'm a Mormon.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church, which some people might look at as meaning that I never really came to know for myself. However, as I grew up, I had a lot of questions, I often read from the Book of Mormon and kept asking myself, is this really true? Is this really of God, or is it the writer wanting us to believe him? I'd had similar questions about Jesus Christ, was He really the Son of God, was He our savior who died for us and was then risen again? I wasn't sure. However, I decided I wanted to really know, so I started reading the scriptures differently than I ever had before. I decided that for every verse I read, I would pause and think about how I could use it to change my life. As I did that with prayer, I felt myself overcome with a feeling, a feeling of comfort, of peace, of truthfulness. I feeling that I know for certain, could only have come from God. So, I would like to say, many people say they believe in God, many say that they believe in Jesus Christ, our Savior, and many say they believe their church. I used to believe. However, from that experience, as well as countless others that have happened many, many times in my life, I don't believe these things anymore, because I know them. And I'm a Mormon.

How I live my faith

It used to be a little bit hard to spend as much time with God as I would like. I'm currently attending NC State as a full-time student, work, and generally am about as busy as I ever could be. That said, however, I have found that having a relationship with God makes every bit of my life easier. I take care to pray, to read from both the Bible and from the Book of Mormon, and try to dedicate as much of my life towards our Heavenly Father as I can. I've found that as I do that, and as I live with my life as close to God's will as I can, that He will make every other part of my life wonderful, and I know that He will be able to do the same for every one of you who are reading this. You will be made happier in every part of your life as you just try to do your best to follow Him.
