Hi I'm Cerissa

I'm a convert, I'm an Athlete,I love my family, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a convert to the Church and was baptized when I was a junior in High School. I love sports and played soccer and softball all through high school. I love all things outdoors, especially skiing, snowboarding, and four wheeling. My family is so important to me and I love spending time with them!

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up going to a baptist church with my neighbors. My mom was raised in the LDS church and I have grandparents that are very active in the LDS church. My family stopped going to church when I was just a baby. I really didn't want anything to do with the church, and avoided it as much as possible. I went to this baptist church for a while but felt like I had a lot of questions that just couldn't be answered there. I quit going to church and decided that I was done with religion. I kept my belief in God though and continued to pray every night because I did know that God was there and that He did hear my prayers. When I was in High School it seemed that my world was falling apart and I didn't know where to turn for help. So I began to turn to my friends, which probably was not the best choice at the particular time. During this time my mom saw the path I was headed down and became concerned. One Sunday morning she came in early and woke me up and told me to get ready for church.I was so confused because we never went to church and to be honest I really didn't want to. We went, the Missionaries spotted us and chased after us as we quickly ran from the building. My mom told them that they could come and teach us. As the missionaries started coming I couldn't deny the spirit I felt. With each lesson they seemed to answer a question I had. As I read from the Book of Mormon and prayed about it, I felt the spirit so strong. One night while reading the Book of Mormon I came to a scripture that hit me so hard. I decided then that I needed to know if it was true. I knelt down and prayed searching for happiness. I got my answer and knew with everything in me that this is the Lords church and that the Book of Mormon is indeed a true book of scripture. I had found the happiness that I was in search of, my life has never been the same! I've wanted to share it with everyone I came in contact with ever since then!

How I live my faith

Currently I am serving a mission in West Virginia, where I teach people everyday about the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and the happiness that can come from it! When I return home I will continue to serve in the church in whatever callings come my way.

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

Cerissa
No Mormons do not worship Joseph Smith. We believe him to be a Prophet of God, a chosen servant of the Lord. Everything that we believe is centered on Jesus Christ, He is our Savior and is at the Head of the Church. We believe the God is our Eternal Father and that Jesus Christ is His Son and our Savior. We worship Our Father in Heaven and His Beloved Son. Show more Show less
