Hi I'm Karen

I was born in Utah but raised in Alaska. I am a stay at home mom with 5 grown children and 16 grandchildren. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am married and have 5 children and 16 grandchildren who all live within 5 minutes of my house. I was born in Provo, Utah. My family moved to Alaska in 1959 and I have lived there ever since. I love to visit warm places to enjoy the sunshine.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised as a Mormon. My parents lived their religion and I saw the happiness and joy it brought to them. As I lived my life and studied my religion, I gained my own testimony of its truthfulness. I truly believe that our church has the complete gospel of Jesus Christ and that by living His gospel and keeping the commandments, we can return to live with our Heavenly Father. Living my religion gives me peace of mind and comfort in a world with many troubles because I know my Heavenly Father loves me and is willing to help me with my trials in life. I am never alone.

How I live my faith

I have served in the Kenai Ward for about 35 years in various callings. One of my favorite callings was to work in the Family History Center helping others to search for their ancestors. I found that very rewarding. The Kenai area is a great place to raise a family. As my children grew up, I helped in their schools as a parent volunteer and also as a substitute teacher. My husband and I served a mission in in Seoul, Korea as the office couple from Nov. 2011 to July, 2013.
