Hi I'm Aimee

I am studying to be a Spanish and ESL teacher. I love opera. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I consider myself a jack of all trades and a master of none. I've had a lot of different hobbies over the years including art, ballet, singing, piano, ballroom dance, basketball, viola, but the truth is I'm not really good at any of them. I've always been one to sing opera around the house or whistle while I work. I love learning about other people and cultures. I am studying to be a Spanish teacher and an ESL teacher. I love speaking Spanish every opportunity I can; there is nothing better than talking to someone at work and noticing they are uncomfortable and don't want to talk to me until I start speaking in Spanish to them. They get excited and I feel like I've made a new friend. I also love to read. I am way into Jane Austen and some of the classics. Since I've been married, I've been really excited to collect new recipes, learn arts and crafts, and just try to be a better person. Lots of things in life scare me (especially being alone in the dark) but with the love of my wonderful family and friends I have confidence in myself and the world.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon for many reasons. I have learned through many life experiences that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is the church of God. Through the Book of Mormon along with the Bible and the other scriptures, I know that God has given me the knowledge of what I need to do to return to Him. I love my Heavenly Father. I want nothing more than to do those things which make Him happy. I am thankful for the guidance of my church leaders in knowing how to dress and act so that I can keep my life clean from some of the sins and addictions of today. I am not saying that I am perfect, because I'm not. I do know that when I have moments of weakness and when I make bad decisions that I can be forgiven if I turn back toward God. I am thankful for the Atonement of my Savior, Jesus Christ. He has made it possible for me to repent and change, He has given me hope that I can be a better person and forget my mistakes of the past. I love everything about this church, it's doctrinal truths, and it's people. I love being a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I have participated in my church by teaching other members the gospel. When I am assigned as a teacher, I am supposed to study a given topic in the scriptures or in the words of our prophet and I come to church ready to share things I learned and ask the class to participate in a discussion about these gospel principles. I love learning with the other members and hearing them bear testimony of the things we talk about. I have been a leader in youth groups within the church and also of groups of women. In these different groups activities are prepared and lessons given that are focused on the needs of those specific members. I also try to be an instrument for Jesus Christ by serving those around me. I have many opportunities to share the love of my Savior and Heavenly Father outside of the church walls. I hope I live my life in a way that allows others to see my testimony.
