Hi I'm Belinda

I am a grandma and enjoy life. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love being a grama but it has taken awhile to get to this point in my life. Raising five children was a long process. Now as I watch my daughters and daughter in laws I have a growing appreciation for the value of motherhood. Children are so precious and deserve loving care and a peaceful home. I love being a woman and the instincts I feel I have to nuture. I enjoy using what talents I have been given to create. Giving small gifts that I have created is a great joy to me. I love using scrapbooking things to create my own ideas. Like everyone else I have had many challenges in my life but centering my life around the Savior and using my faith in Him has helped thorugh the roughest times. Support of family and friends made a difference and continues to do so. There is great joy in service and I have been blessed with many opportunities to serve. One challenge I have is to have priorities. Time is so valuable and how I use it determines so much. I tend to be a perfectionist so learning to think about what matters the most and taking care of that has taught me where the greater joys in life really are. Doesn't make life easier just more meaningful. Sixteen grandchildren are pretty high on my list . . . . after my husband of course.

Why I am a Mormon

I was fortunate to grow up being taught the gospel of Jesus Christ in my youth. Many people have influenced my life for good along the way. As I have served in many positions in the church I have grown to love people I never thought I could identify with. I remember especially being young and visiting an elderly woman who was very grumpy. She desperatly needed a bath but she needed someone to help her. She had no family around. I reluctantly offered to help. It was very humbling. She became a dear friend to me and to my family until she died. I could see the Savior's hand in blessing her and me. He has done that many times in my life. I have felt the peace that only comes from Him as I have knelt in prayer pleading for miracles in behalf of my family. Sometimes He gives the miracle we need and someitmes the answer is no. He loves us and gives us what is best for us. I have felt that sure knowledge that comes from time and testing that this is the gospel of Jesus Christ. I have read the Book of Mormon many times and continue to learn from those pages. I testify it is a true book.

How I live my faith

I have served in many leadership positions in the church. I have found that these experiences not only blessed my life at the time with life long friends but as I work at our state Fair I have used some of those leadership skills I learned in dealing with other people particularly when it comes to organizing things. I currently teach a class of adult women. Women always have things to say and I love a good discussion about what ever the topic is I am teaching. I also have the responsibility to visit four women each month just to see how they are doing. They have become my dearest friends and I look forward to seeing them every month. I have had many opportunities to teach young women ages 12 to 18. They are so full of energy and ideas. I learn so much from them. Serving in the church always blesses my life and gives me a sense of joy because of the friends I have made and sometimes feeling maybe I have made a difference in someone elses life.
