Hi I'm Mike

I live in Riverton, UT, I've been called to serve in the Mexico Hermosillo Mission, I report to the Provo MTC on August 21, 2013.

About Me

Right now I'm learning how to be a better missionary at the Provo MTC. Some of my top hobbies to do is sports. Particularly the sport of football. I LOVE football. I don't care what the time is or the weather as long as i get to play. Sadly I'm not allowed to play football here at the MTC. :( Whenever I'm not playing football the second sport of choice is basketball because that's the sport all my other friends like to do. Ironically, I can play basketball at the MTC but I often choose to either work out, or play volleyball. I cannot wait to leave the MTC and serve the people of Mexico. Other hobbies I enjoy doing are Ballroom Dance, and singing in a choir. After my mission I plan to go to college and major in Business with an emphasis on Finance.

Why I am a Mormon

Just like many others in this church I was born into the church. Reason why I keep going to church is because I know that this is the one and only true church on this earth established by God the Father and his Son Jesus Christ. I know that this church has been reestablished on this earth today by Joseph Smith by divine authority from God. I gained a testimony Joseph Smith after watching a film about him. That testimony came to me with him getting tarred and feathered. At that moment I realized no man on this earth would get tarred and feathered for something that wasn't true. For some kind of joke. I also have a testimony of the truthfulness of the Book of Mormon. I have read the book from cover to cover and I know without a single doubt in my mind that the book is true. After having read the book for the first time I took Moroni's Challenge (Moroni 10: 3-5). I got down on my knees and began my prayer. Before I could even ask if the book was true something instantly filled my mind. It's hard to explain what it felt like but I know it was the Holy Ghost telling me that every single verse inside the book was true. I also have a testimony of our Savior Jesus Christ's Atonement. I know that he died for all of us, all those that have lived, are living, and ever will live on this earth. I know that it is with His Atonement that all of our sins can be forgiven and that we can become like our Father in Heaven. It is with these testimonies that i know that the Church is true.

How I live my faith

I'm not perfect. Nor do I pretend to be. But I do try my hardest to live worthily in this church. As a representative of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ I need to maintain a dignified personality on the outside, as well as on the inside. I've come to accept that since I bear the name of Christ on my chest, I need to act and behave as one who goes about in His name. I hold the Melchezidek Priesthood as an Elder, and I serve my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, as an Elder.
