Hi I'm Elder Austin

I was born in Utah, grew up in Georgia, I love music and spending time with friends, and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I was born in Utah and grew up in Georgia. I go to BYU studying Nueroscience. I am now on a Mission speaking spanish in Salt Lake City, Utah. I love hiking, playing piano, skiing, and just being with friends.

Why I am a Mormon

I love the church and the gospel. Anyone can find happiness and peace as they live the teachings of Christ. I have received my witness of the truthfulness and divinity of these things and because of that I will live the rest of my life as a faithful member of the church. How I came to know is the same as anyone else can come. I exercised my faith, read the Book of Mormon, and prayed to know if this was God's church. It is God's church, the Book of Mormon contains his words, and because of this there is a place in the world where people can find saving ordinances and feel the Holy Spirit in their lives. I encourage everyone to read and pray about the Book of Mormon with faith. The promise is for everyone and the witness will come.

How I live my faith

I know that this Gospel is true and so I will live it faithfully. The stories from the Book of Mormon are my favorite and I learn something new every time I read it. It has made the largest impact on my life and I know it is true. Right now I am serving a mission and the greatest experience you can have serving is seeing the change in people as they feel the Holy Spirit. This is God's work and I am excited to have the privilege to be Christ's representative for two years.

What do Mormons believe about the Holy Ghost? Who is the Holy Ghost?

Elder Austin
The Holy Ghost is a member of the Godhead. Unlike the other members, he is the only one who does not have a body of flesh and bones. This is so that He can enter into our hearts and mind and testify of the truth. His responsibilities are many. He testifies of truth and it is through Him that we obtain our testimonies of the church and the Book of Mormon. He comforts us during times of difficulties and strife. He does this by providing us with feelings of peace, joy, happiness, etc. He is also the one who sanctifies or cleans us of our impurities including sin. He can help us with our weaknesses and guide us when we don't know what to do. The gift of having His preasance with us continually for the rest of our lives is one of the greatest gifts our Heavenly Father has given us. Show more Show less

Who wrote the Book of Mormon?

Elder Austin
The book of Mormon was written by many ancient prophets of God as they were influenced by the Holy Spirit of God. These prophets recorded the history of the dealings of God with their people upon metal plates. These prophets of all testify of the divinity of Jesus Christ as the Son of God and our Savior. Anyone who reads their writings will grow closer to Christ and will gain a testimony that the Book contains his words. The writings were compiled by an ancient, prophet historian named Mormon. These writings were translated into English by the prophet Joseph Smith. Show more Show less
