Hi I'm Jim

I'm a Rural Mail Carrier, 3rd Generation Carpenter, all around Outdoorsman... and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My name is Jim. I'm 45 years old. I'm a carpenter by trade and have done that for 25 years. I'm also employed by the US Postal Service as a rural mail carrier for the past 15 years. I have a beautiful wife and three wonderful kids; one girl and two boys. I love working with my hands and being outdoors. I especially love fishing!

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised Baptist and became inactive around 19 or 20 years old. My life was changing and it was not for the better. Many years and three children later I decided I needed to change. My wife was already a member, but I had rejected the gospel numerous times. But I had been praying to the Lord for help and he knew I was ready. After discussions with the missionaries, and even more prayer, I felt the spirit and it confirmed to me that what I was being taught was right. So I joined the church. Fast forward three years later, our family is stronger, happier, and we're able to deal with whatever life brings us.

How I live my faith

I wake up and offer prayer to Heavenly Father to give thanks for what he's allowed us to have everyday. I do my best to set a good example for, not only, my children, but for everyone. Humility is key, it's not always easy by any means, but when I start to veer off the right path, I pray more, read more scriptures and serve others. I look for and accept more opportunities to help others, just as my Savior did. That's what his life was about serving others! I strive to spend more time with my family and enjoy them more, for that's the strongest foundation there is; Jesus Christ and family!
