Hi I'm Robert

I'm an Athlete, a brother, a son, and a convert. And I'm Mormon

About Me

I'm a convert to the Church. I grew up in Flagler Beach Florida, I didnt have the Gospel in my life. My parents had joined the Church when I was a year old, but went less-active before I baptized. My parents and I moved to Georgia in 2010. Sister missionaries came and taught me the Gospel. I was baptized November 27th. It was the greatest day of my life. Since then I've gained friends that helped me to stay in the church. I owe them a lot more then I can give. But I'll be serving a mission in Colorado Springs, and I'll be able to pay it forward.

Why I am a Mormon

I've always wanted to get baptized when I turned eight years old, but Heavenly Father had a different plan for me. We never went to church on Sunday for me to even do that. When I got to high school, I didn't have that desire to be baptized anymore, I gave up. The end of my sophomore year, I told my parents that I wanted to get out of Florida, it was too distracting I couldnt focus on sports, I wanted to start over. So my dad got a job in Georgia with his friend so we moved there. I knew I was going to make a change but I didnt know what it was, and church wasnt even on my mind. When we first got there, we had nothing but a few clothes. No food, no home, barley any money. The Church helped us get a hotel and some food. I met the Bishop, and his councelers, but at the time I didnt know what that was. I was going through a hard time, I had no friends and I felt alone. I wanted school to start up so I could play football and have new friends. When school started, we finally saved up and got into a home of our own. I was finally set, people liked me I was playing football but I didnt feel that change happen yet. At home, some nights the Sister Missionaries would come and talk to us, but I would do my own thing and go on the computer or watch TV in the other room. My mom told them that we probably werent going to go back to church, but they could come over as friends whenever. They knew I hadnt been baptized, but my mom told them not to force it on me. After football practice..

How I live my faith

There is only one way that people can live their Faith, and that is by living the example of Jesus Christ. He set the perfect example for us. But I can say with all my Heart that I know that He lives. I know that by sharing our love with others is so important. Love is so crucial, perfect love casteth out all fear. And just by being thankful for all that Heavenly Father has given you. Continue of WHY I AM A MORMON...So after football practice one day, I hung out with some guys on my team. And at this moment I still hadnt felt that change that I needed to do. I felt like it was going to be a repeat of Florida. I Still didnt know what to do. When I got home, I talked to my mom and she knew that needed a change as well and it was bugging me. As I sat there in the kitchen, I saw the Book of Mormon on the counter, so I grabbed it and went down stairs to my room and started reading, and I didnt know what Alma or Nephi was so I read from Mormon in the back, and its wars with these people, and I wanted a good story. When the missionaries came back over, I sat in and asked them for some good stories in it. And She told me "read Alma 32 and 3 nephi 11". So I did. In alma 32, it talkes about a seed being planted and it will grow. I then read 3nephi11 and I pictured myself walking up to Jesus feeling His prints. The swelling came in my heart, and it started to burn, and felt like there wasnt room for it. I knew it was true at that moment! I would say more, but I have no more room:(
