Hi I'm Amanda Renee

I haven't done anything extraordinary. But I am a granddaughter, a daughter, and a sister. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have had the unique opportunity to serve in Washington state as a missionary for a year, and now I am currently serving as a missionary in Florida. I love film and I love working backstage as a theater technician. I love being outside, especially hiking in the woods. I've parachuted from an airplane at 3,000 feet. I love music, particularly rocking out to Classic Rock, and kicking back to Jazz. I love celebrating the little things in life, like fluffy clouds and lightning bugs. =) The Gospel of Jesus Christ blesses me in every aspect of my life. I am so grateful for the way it has helped me come to understand that through my Savior, I can overcome all things. And I want everyone to know that He lives!

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the Church, but while growing up I never really got a solid testimony of my own. I went off to college and pretty much gave up on organized religion altogether. Then one day I met someone who really exemplified what being a good Christian meant. His example helped me reevaluate what I wanted out of life, and helped me to make some serious changes in the way I was living. Since that time, I have cultivated a personal testimony of the Gospel of Jesus Christ that is unshakable. That is why I am on a mission for my Church, so I can tell others about the joy I have in my life because of Jesus Christ and the healing power of His Atonement.

How I live my faith

Well, I'm out right now inviting others to come and partake of the joy that the Gospel of Jesus Christ has brought to my life. My teaching companion and I go out each day and talk to as many people as we can, inviting as many as will listen to come hear the message we have to share. During the week I listen to uplifting mini-sermons given by Church leaders, and strive to study the Bible and Book of Mormon. Though I may not be as good as I should be, I'm a work in progress, and I try to do my best, and that's all God asks. I love the Savior, Jesus Christ, and I love this Church. There may be things that take some getting used to, but I can say without a doubt that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints contains the missing pieces to the puzzle of where we came from, why we're here on this earth, and what is to come after this life. I testify that the Savior, Jesus Christ, died for our sins. He loves us individually, and knows us by name. He will ease our doubts and our fears if we but turn to Him and ask.

What is being a Mormon like?

Amanda Renee
Being a Mormon is cool. Like anything that's worthwhile, it's not necessarily easy. But the blessings far outweigh any sacrifices that are required. When you learn to align your will with God's, you can experience true joy. This doesn't mean that Mormons don't experience pain and sorrow. But the comforting message of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and the power of His love help to ease any burdens we may encounter. Show more Show less
