Hi I'm Ethan

I am from Mesa, Arizona. I play the cello, enjoy nature, and love to learn. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently serving a mission in the Minnesota Minneapolis Mission. Before my mission I participated in the pre-medical program at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. I hope to one day graduate and attend medical school. I have played the cello for 9 years and absolutely love classical music, particularly Romantic Era symphonies. I love learning of any type and about any subject. I am a football, basketball, and soccer fanatic and love to watch these sports at all levels of competition. I am an avid follower of the TV show Psych.

Why I am a Mormon

The gospel of Jesus Christ brings so much joy to my life! There was a time in my life where although I was actively a part of this marvelous church, I had not truly allowed Christ into my life. I was unhappy, uncontent, and always angry at the world. I saw the joy the latter-day saints around me had and I desired it for myself. Thus began the miracle of conversion within me! As I studied the Book of Mormon a marvelous change occurred in my life. The reality of the divinity of the Savior and the magnitude of his great and everlasting sacrifice began to impress upon my soul. Burden after burden began to be lifted from me as I began to align my will with the will of the Lord. For the first time in my life I could truly say I was happy. I have a strong testimony that Jesus Christ is the Savior of mankind and that through the power of His atonement we can be forgiven for all things and empowered to overcome seemingly unconquerable challenges. I truly know that we can "becometh a saint through the atonement of Christ the Lord" (Mosiah 3:19) and return to live with our Heavenly Father some day.

How I live my faith

Faith is a principle of action. I show my faith by striving to follow the example of Jesus Christ and by doing what He would have me do. I decided to be baptized, to serve a mission, and to read and pray about the Book of Mormon. Just as we must work a muscle to increase its strength, we must act in faith to increase our faith. The more we act out our faith in Jesus Christ, the more we will both learn of Him and want to be like Him. The more we want to be like Him, the more willing we will be to make changes to our lives, or repent, to be more like Him. As we repent and make covenants, or promises, with God, the Holy Ghost will teach us and sanctify us. The atonement will begin to wash us clean. And as Christ's sacrifice works within us, our appreciation for Him will increase. We will want to share the blessings of Christ's love with others! This is how I show my faith! I show my faith by giving up various things in my life that I know would displease God. I show my faith by seeking to be worthy of the companionship of the Holy Ghost so that I may be guided to those people whom He would have me serve. I show my faith by going out every day to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with others.
