Hi I'm John Graham

I'm the Artistic Director for a local dance studio in Auburn, WA. I love to dance, sing and act. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born and raised in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I'm blessed to be part of a wonderful family. There are five children and I'm right in the middle. I have two wonderful parents who love each other and will soon be serving another full-time mission for two years. I attended college at Brigham Young University. I studied Marriage, Family and Human Development, with a minor in Ballroom Dance. I was also a member of the BYU Ballroom Dance Touring Company. I completed two world tours, one to Western Europe and the other to South Pacific. I was a national ballroom dance competitor for 11 years, after which, I became involved with musical theater. I have lived in Seattle, WA and St. George, UT for internships and summer jobs. I have been living in Federal Way, WA for the last two years. I work for a non-profit dance studio in Auburn as the Artistic Director and as a coach for one of there competitive formation teams. Just over a year ago I became acquainted with and married a beautiful redhead. We were married in the Seattle temple for time and eternity. I love to run (zero drop shoes), mountain bike (full-suspension), road bike (Carbon frame), hike, snowshoe, and of course, dance. Every once in a while I'll pick up a book to read that usually has a fantasy or religious theme. I'll watch some TV here and there, especially if I follow a series (i.e. Psych, Top Gear UK), and I'll rarely turn down an action flick.

Why I am a Mormon

Since a I was a child I have never doubted what I have been taught, but I have sought to receive my own witness of the truths I profess to believe. I have received a witness in my mind and heart of the Atonement of Jesus Christ. I have come to know that the sacrifice of my Lord and Savior not only cleanses me of my sins, but enables be to become better. I know that this life is one chapter in the plan that our Heavenly Father created for us. This plan is the Plan of Happiness, established with the sole purpose of bringing His children true happiness and joy. I have come to know these truths over time, through patient study, practice and prayer. These truths have brought me peace of mind and purpose to my life. I know that my decisions and actions are not only important here on earth, but also beyond.

How I live my faith

I have been counseled to live by two very important Christ-like attributes - charity and wisdom. Charity is the key ingredient for me to keep my heart and mind open where they would otherwise be closed. With charity I am able to trust; build bridges rather than burn them; act in the spirit of love even when being firm; forgive, as well as, be forgiven. When I am making an effort to be wise I acknowledge my faults and the need to change them, express gratitude for what I have and recognize that more often than not I do not have the answers to very difficult questions. Consequently, when I am trying to be wise I am forced to recognize how much I live my life by faith, actions based on limited knowledge and belief, and how little on fact. However, my belief in Christ and His Atonement is firm and I will focus on that belief before I focus on what I do not know. I will make an effort to cultivate my belief before neglecting it. I find that by attending church meetings, the temple and reading the scriptures I can see myself for who I really am and how I can improve. These activities constantly remind me of the truths I strive to live. I have proven to be a very forgetful person at times when I miss a day of scripture study or a week without attending church.
