Hi I'm katelyn.
granola is from oregon and so am i. i'm a mormon.
i wish writing about myself didn't include so many i's and me's, you know? you are probably a lot more interesting. but since this is the "about me" section- i'll write about me (see, there it is!) instead of you (there YOU are). let's get through the basics first- i'm katelyn, 23 years old, i think identity is a little dynamic and not entirely dependent on what i like and what i look like but more who i am and hope to become. are you following? the majority of my efforts and energies are focused on trying to become more like Jesus Christ and helping other people to come closer to him- with the purpose of helping them to become more like him too. amidst that effort, or what i would refer to as my purpose (!), is the dual purpose of finding joy. joy is color and creation- culinary delights (paprikash and pickles?)- alliteration (can't you see?) and poetry that doesn't rhyme (trend broken.). these are a few of my favorite things- but truthfully they are peripheral to the joy my family brings me and the joy that the hope of progression brings me.
there is a universal need for happiness and peace and progression- i'm no exception to that rule. the gospel of Jesus Christ (because that's what this is all REALLY about) is the only way to really and wholly bring those things into my life ( and yours...for that matter). i find hope in an ever increasingly chaotic and confused world and that hope to me is practical-every day and every hour.
when you internalize faith- it affects every aspect of your life. everything i see is through the lens of my knowledge of God's plan for me and for his other children. once you internalize and look through this lens you begin to understand that there are opportunities all around you to lift and encourage and teach and bless. i live my faith by regularly and consistently reading from the scriptures, attending church, making changes in my life and primarily by seeking an ever improved relationship with my Father in Heaven through prayer. i recently finished serving as a full time missionary in the Cleveland, Ohio mission. that experience has solidified my resolve to ever seek to bring others unto Jesus Christ.
