Hi I'm Ben

I'm from Canada. I'm studying Engineering. I'm a musician. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm currently studying Engineering. I'm thinking of specializing in Mechatronics Engineering. I have always had a love for physics and science, and knowing how things work. Aside from that, I play bass and percussion in a band, and have toured most of Canada playing shows at various venues. I like lots of different kinds of music, principally Rock and Alternative.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day saints by my parents, who are faithful members of the church. I am very grateful to them for setting this example for me and helping me to have a foundation based around Jesus Christ. There was a point in my life, however, where I had to know for sure that I wasn't just a member because of my parents' faith. So I spent much time pondering, studying the scriptures, and really paying attention to how I felt at church, at different activities put on by the church, and how I felt when reading the scriptures and praying to God. After some time it was very clear to me that the things I had been taught are true. The Book of Mormon is definitely the most concrete thing that I now know is a work of God. The various ancient prophets and disciples of Christ who contributed to the Book of Mormon told of their first-hand experiences are real people who walked this earth. The words contained in it are from God, and always focus around Jesus Christ and His Gospel. I know that anybody who desires to know of this book's truth can do so through study, prayer, and most importantly, faith.

How I live my faith

I live in a city where there is a sufficient number of students and young single adults that we make up our own congregation of people generally 18-30 years old. I think this is great because I can share these experiences with people around my age group, and with similar life experiences. We have come to be great friends and strengthen each other in the Gospel, because it's not always easy in today's world. All members of the church are invited to serve in various ways so that we can be a tightly-knit community. One of the things that I do to serve is visiting certain families or individuals of the church, making sure that all of their basic needs are met, being their friend, and sharing spiritual insights.
