Hi I'm Carl

I grew up in California. I manufacture asphalt products. I enjoy cycling and spending time with my family.

About Me

I am a 40 year old man living in California's great central valley. I am married with three children and one foster child. I own my own company which manufactures materials used in the asphalt maintenance industry. In my free time I enjoy cycling, gardening, and reading. I served a two year mission for my church in Brazil where I learned to speak Portuguese. I also speak fair Spanish.

Why I am a Mormon

I find great comfort, purpose, and hope in the teachings of Jesus Christ. I feel that I am a better person as I try to follow Christ and keep the promises I have made to Him and my Heavenly Father. I am grateful for what the gospel does for my children. I know that they will be better people for having known their Savior and His gospel. I believe that we have a purpose in this life and that if we make good choices and try to be the best people that we can then we can spend the eternities with our Father in Heaven and our families thanks to the Grace and Works of our Savior Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I currently serve as the Bishop of my ward. This is similar to being the pastor of a protestant congregation. In the course of my work as Bishop I get to meet with many people and offer guidance and encouragement as they face life's challenges and difficulties. One of the things I enjoy most is working with the young men and young women in my ward (congregation) in helping them to prepare themselves for their future rolls in life. Last summer I got to go on a 60 mile backpacking trip with the 16-18 year old young men which included summiting Mt. Whitney.
