Hi I'm Don

I'm a Mormon; building a relationship with God and relying on the merits of my Savior, Jesus Christ.

About Me

A couple months ago, my dad, my 2 older brothers, and I went on a motorcycle trip in Utah. We took our "dual sport" motorcycles, (on road and off road bikes,) and it was a great bonding adventure in the Strawberry Mountain near Heber City. We actually went to Utah because my brother's oldest daughter was getting baptized in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. It was a wonderful time to hang out with family and close friends. I love my family and know that families are eternal.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because the Book of Mormon is sacred scripture. With knowing that by the power of the Holy Ghost, Joseph Smith was called a prophet of our Lord, the gospel of Christ was restored, and it has changed my life. It is not easy, but it is real.

How I live my faith

I do my best to get to my Sunday church meetings. There are three hours of actual church, separated into 3 classes. However, I notice that even Sunday and on other days of the week, I am able to show my faith, live my beliefs, and be the best example I know how to be. I love the Savior and am able to follow the commandments. I may not walk perfectly the precepts he has set forth, but I do know he will grant to me salvation as I do my very best. I am my congregations ward mission leader. I help the missionaries that are stationed in our geographical area find people to teach. These young people that leave their homes, family, and friends and sacrifice much want to teach what Jesus taught. Love, service, gentleness, kindness, humility, pure joy, and lasting happiness.

Who wrote the Book of Mormon?

Don
The Book of Mormon was written by prophets. These prophets were men called of God to write teachings they learned by revelation down on records. The first men known as prophets in the book were Lehi, and his son Nephi. They and their families were led by God to the American continent where they established a civilization. As the bible is a record of God's dealings with his children on earth in the old country, so too is The Book of Mormon such a record. This record is written by men called prophets. Names such as Nephi, Mosiah, King Benjamin, Alma, Omni, Enos, Ether, Mormon, and Moroni are prophets who wrote their revelations down on tablets, metal, and parchment. Joseph Smith translated the record with the power of the Holy Ghost. Show more Show less
