Hi I'm Jess.

I'm a runner. I'm an artist. I love life and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm currently attending Brigham Young University in Laie, Hawaii. I'm majoring in fine arts with a specific on graphic design, I love it. I love everything and anything creative and beautiful, life included. I competitively ran for 6 years and I loved it. I love being active and enjoying the world around me. I love to sit and think and take in small details. I love photography and capturing moments of sheer joy. I love music with meaningful lyrics and most of all I love food, baking it, creating it, and eating it.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a convert to the church, 4 years now, I converted when I was 15 years old. What a big decision at such a young age! But nothing about it I regret...actually, it was the best decision I have, or ever will make. The church has brought so much happiness into my life; I know the meaning of my life, I know my importance, I know what I am supposed to do. Praying about the Book of Mormon took a lot of courage and faith, but once I got down on my knees and muttered my prayer asking if the Book of Mormon was true...I had a feeling that is indescribable, which undoubtedly let me know of the truthfulness of this church. From then on, nothing could change my mind from what I knew to be true. Because of that experience, I know that my Father in Heaven loves me. I know that I won't wander through this mortal life as just another face in the crowd, I am a divine, cherished daughter of God. He loves me as an individual and recognizes my individual needs and potential. I have a purpose. I know that the Gospel has been restored in these latter days by the prophet Joseph Smith. This is Christ's church. I know that Joseph Smith was visited, in a grove that is now sacred, by Heavenly Father and his son Jesus Christ. I have a testimony of the Book of Mormon. I know that is another testimony of our Savior. It was written for us in this day. It brings happiness into my life that no secular object could come close to. I love this church. I love the Book of Mormon. I love Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ AND I love me. I recognize my divine potential and feel the love of those around me because of this truth.

How I live my faith

In the church I've had many opportunities to serve others and act in my faith. I've worked with the young women in my homeward for several years, teaching and being an example, trying to exemplify the need to walk in our Savior's footsteps. I've also had the opportunity to work with the nursery children and see the beaming faces of the little children that, not too long ago, were with our Father in Heaven. They shined with the light of Christ. As of now, I am our ward photographer. I have the opportunity to attend all of our ward activities and capture the moments of reverence, happiness, and love into photographs.
