Hi I'm Jessica

I grew up in Northern California. I'm a college student. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the oldest of five children and my family is central to my life. Although I am not athletic, I enjoy being outside. I began playing the piano at age eight and I enjoy expressing myself through music. I love interacting with people, especially little kids. I have traveled to Italy and spent four months in Jerusalem where I learned that I have a love for different cultures. I love trying unique foods- going to new restaurants or baking a new recipe. I am attending Brigham Young University where I am studying to be an elementary school teacher. I am engaged and looking forward to my marriage in December to my best friend.

Why I am a Mormon

From the time I was young I have loved sharing what I believe with those I know. One thing that I know for sure is that the gospel of Jesus Christ brings me joy. I remember as a teenager, I was reading in the New Testament about the life of Christ. As I was reading, I felt the most peaceful, overwhelming feeling that came from within me. My skin started to tingle and I became emotional as I felt an overcoming desire to be better. The Church of Jesus Christ inspires me to be a better person. This life is all about becoming something- this gospel allows me to become the best person I can possibly be through my Savior Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

In the process of becoming someone better, I have the great opportunity of serving. I believe that a person can come to know what the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is all about through the members. I try to live my life in a way that I can bless and improve the lives of those around me. One of the great blessings I have had in the church was to work with the children in the church on several different occasions. I spent my time on Sunday's with them at church learning from their sweet and pure examples. I have had the opportunity to play the piano and organ for the congregation during church so that we all have the opportunity to share our beliefs through song. Currently I have the great privilege of working with elementary school children who need help with their homework. They come from homes where their parents speak little or no English, so once a week we meet with these children and give them the help they need in school. I am so grateful for the experiences I have had in this church to serve others and express my faith through my actions.
