Hi I'm Peggy

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a wife and mother of 4 children - 2 girls and 2 boys - and the grandmother of 14 - 6 boys and 8 girls. Three of my 4 childern and their families live close by and one of my sons and his family live on the east cost. I finished my BA in Elementary Education when I was 37 and completed my Masters Degree in Bilingual/Bicultural EducationI from when I was 40. I taught 5th grade for 12 years, then became a Teacher on Special Assignment for Math, got my administrative degree, and an now an administrator.

Why I am a Mormon

I joined the LDS church at 18 when I went to Brigham Young University on a Language Scholarship. I went into 300 level Spanish classes and couldn't understand why there were boys in the class who did really well with speaking and listening to Spanish, but couldn't read and write it very well. I learned later that that was the class into which all of the missionaries retuning from Spanish speaking missions were enrolled. I also had to take a Book of Mormon class and I was not worried because I knew I would just take it, get a grade, and get out. But it really is not possible to study the Book of Mormon without gaining a testimoney of it. I joined the Church in January 1970 and it has blessed my life and family.

How I live my faith

I have worked in the Children's organization of the Church for the last 5 years and will now be working with the Women's organization. I have learned that, in addition to striving to live my every day life to honor my Savior, having a calling is a wonderful way to apply the teaching in the scriptures, leaders and lessons. I apply the lessons I learn to my work and my family life. I am blessed to be a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
