Hi I'm Amber

I love music and the outdoors. I'm a missionary. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love the outdoors and marveling at the wonders that our Heavenly Father created. I love music. I play the piano and violin. I especially love singing. I love spending time with my amazing family and friends.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know of the truthfulness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. When I was almost 12 years old and about to enter the youth program at Church, I decided that I was almost grown up. I decided that I needed to know for myself about the Gospel. I started reading scriptures every night and praying about what I read. I felt a sweet peaceful feeling in my heart as I prayed and studied. I studied the Young Women's theme, which is: WE ARE DAUGHTERS of our Heavenly Father, who loves us, and we love Him. WE WILL “STAND as witnesses of God at all times and in all things, and in all places” (Mosiah 18:9) as we strive to live the Young Women values, which are: Faith • Divine Nature • Individual Worth • Knowledge • Choice and Accountability • Good Works • Integrity • and Virtue WE BELIEVE as we come to accept and act upon these values, WE WILL BE PREPARED to strengthen home and family, make and keep sacred covenants, receive the ordinances of the temple, and enjoy the blessings of exaltation. I can testify of the truth in this theme. The values that it outlines are eternal and important. Every time that I read the Book of Mormon and pray about it, I cannot even finish asking the question about whether it is true. I burst into tears and a sense of peace washes over me. I know without a doubt that it is true. It is a companion to the Bible, and they testify of Christ and His divine love for us. I am so grateful to be a part of this church because it inspires me to be a better person and grow closer to Christ, my Savior.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by being true to it at all times. I love opportunities to talk about my faith and how it has changed my life for the better. I had many friends growing up who were not of my faith. Many of them were curious about the Mormon Church because it is not very common in my area. They had mostly only heard that we were weird and different. In all honesty, we are not that different. We believe that Christ is our Savior and Redeemer. We try our best to be good people, to love and to serve the people around us. We aspire to be like Him. I try to incorporate Christ's teachings into my life. One of my favorites things about my faith is that we have "visiting teaching." It is basically where every woman is assigned people to visit each month. Some of my closest friendships have developed from this, because I grow to love the women who I serve and who serve me.

What will the Mormon missionaries talk about when they visit my home?

Missionaries will teach on three main subjects. These are: the Restoration of Christ's church in modern days, Plan of Salvation (God's plan for us to return to Him), and the Gospel of Jesus Christ (Faith, repentance, baptism and receiving the Holy Ghost). The missionaries' purpose is to invite people to come unto Christ. They will do this by teaching and testifying of Jesus Christ and His love for all of us. They will invite people to ask questions of them, but more importantly of our Heavenly Father. If we ask God, in faith, He will help us to find and recognize truth. Show more Show less
