Hi I'm Paul

I'm a surfer, snowboarder, golfer and husband and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm currently an undergrad student applying to Physical Therapy Schools. Last year I got addicted to golfing. I go as often as I can. In high school my water polo team won CIF (like winning state) twice. I lived in Brazil for 2 years and was able to become fluent in Portuguese. I have been married since 2009 and have loved every minute of it. My wife is an amazing woman and an even better cook, (I've put on a few pounds since we got married). I love anything outdoors and sports related although I am not an avid sports watcher. I'd rather go and play something than watch it on TV.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because the principles that are taught within the church are there to improve lives. Because of what I was taught in the church, I was able to avoid doing things that would negatively influence my future. While many people look at the teachings of the church as confining, or strict, they are there to help us live a truly free life; Free of the addictions and problems that can be associated with things such as alcohol, tobacco and other harmful drugs. Free of the pain that comes from bad moral choices. I am a Mormon because I want to be the best husband, father and person that I can be.

How I live my faith

I love being able to serve in the church. I have served in several positions that have helped me become the person that I am. As a missionary in Brazil, I was able to take the gospel to numerous people who were in need of a better life. I have personally seen what the gospel can do to a family and the happiness that it can bring. After my mission, I served as a Family Home Evening Leader in my singles ward. I was able to help others from the ward come together and form friendships that have been lasting. After I was married, I served as a Sunday School President. I was able to help teach members of my ward during Sunday School and help uplift others as they uplifted me. At the age of 24, I was called to serve as the second counselor to our Bishop. This was a scary calling to receive. I didn't know anything about being in a bishopric and felt under-qualified compared to others in our ward. I can testify that this is the Lords Church because no one else would have trusted that responsibility to me at that age. Right now I serve as the Emergency Preparedness Leader of our ward and have enjoyed serving in that capacity.

Do you really believe there is a prophet like Moses alive today?

Paul
I do believe that there is a Prophet like Moses alive today. God is an unchanging God. He didn't love the people in the time of Moses more than he loves us so it only makes sense that He would want to teach us His will. Many people say that everything we need to know is in the Bible, but they didn't have television, movies and magazines in biblical times. How are we supposed to know what things we should avoid that we have today that they didn't have in Biblical times? That is why there is a need for a prophet, so that we may know the will of our Heavenly Father. Show more Show less
