Hi I'm Sarah

I grew up all over the world, from Japan to Ohio. I am a storyteller at heart; I love to write, animate and paint. I am a Mormon.

About Me

Hi! I'm a student, studying animation and art at Brigham Young University Idaho, and soon to be a missionary in Sacramento California. I'm a storyteller, through and through, and I thrive in ways I can tell my stories. I've created and completed two webcomics, and self-published a novel titled "The Arcandin". I hope to tell many other stories in the days to come, whether through film, animation, comics, novels, or even music. I like snowboarding, archery and softball. I play several musical instruments, including the spirit flute and the ocarina, and I love listening to music. I've dabbled in composing as well. I love the world, travelling and exploring and learning about different countries. I think that comes from having lived in Japan when I was young.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Both of my parents have family lines that go back to the pioneers. As a child, I learned about the Savior and his love for me, and about the restoration of the true gospel in these the latter days. As I grew older, I began to learn more for myself of the church, and I gained a testimony of its truth. I love this gospel, and I don't know where I would be without it. It is an anchor in times of strife and self-doubt; a comfort in times of grief; and a beacon in times of fear. I love Jesus Christ and my Heavenly Father, and I try to thank them every day for the gift that I was born into this church. I have felt the Spirit of truth for myself. My prayers have been answered. I know that God lives, that his Son, Jesus Christ lives. He is my Savior and my Redeemer. I know that He answers my prayers, that He loves me, and that He loves all His children. I pray that someday I can be filled with His love towards all my fellow man. I want to reach out and help His children, in any way I can, to give them this joy that I feel. I want the whole world to share in it. I know that this is the truth, the light, and the way to true happiness in this life and joy in the eternities to come. This truth is my comfort and strength, my joy. I testify of the truth of the Book of Mormon, I testify that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God, and that Thomas S. Monson is a living prophet today. I testify that God lives and loves us. I know this to be true.

How I live my faith

I have served in a handful of callings in my ward as I have grown up. I have often served as a leader in my youth group. I helped organize activities, seen to the needs of individual girls, and helped to plan lessons and activities in a way that would draw us closer to our Heavenly Father. I've always tried to be a missionary in my life, and to share the gospel with those I meet, to share the joy I have in it. I try to live my faith in all that I do. As I write my stories and tell my tales, I know those things come from God, and I want to reflect that in my work. I want people to read my stories and be uplifted by them. Through publishing my webcomics, I've had many opportunities to share what I believe and to influence the lives of others and myself for good. I live by my standards and the standards of the church, and I stand up for what I believe in. Overall, I try to be a good friend and neighbor, a good daughter, a good sister. I pray for help and guidance in my faults and strive to make myself a better person than I am. I want to love those around me as the Savior loves them, seeing them as the wonderful people they truly are.
