Hi I'm Judy

I grew up in California. I'm a wife, mother, and grandmother. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love sunshine, warm weather, and being outside with my family. My favorite thing to do is spend time with my husband, children and grandchildren. We like to take nature walks together and enjoy identifying the birds, trees, plants, animals, & insects we see. We grow a large garden every year and preserve our harvest for use during the winter months. I love reading, especially about historical people and places. I enjoy learning about my own ancestors and the way their faith in God helped them overcome their challenges. I am learning to do family history research, and I love it.

Why I am a Mormon

I’m a Mormon because of the peace, happiness and hope I feel as I try to follow Jesus Christ and keep God’s commandments. I know Heavenly Father knows me and loves me. Because Heavenly Father loves each one of us, He sent his Only Begotten Son, Jesus Christ, to atone for our sins and show us how to live so that we may return to live with Him again. I have felt Heavenly Father's love for me personally. I know He knows me, loves me, and that He listens to my prayers and answers them. When I have faced challenges that seemed insurmountable, I have turned to Him in prayer. I have felt Him close to me and felt the comforting reassurance that He loves me and will help me through my difficulties, even if they are not removed from me. I know I never need to be alone because Heavenly Father is always near. I feel great hope in the assurance that Jesus Christ has suffered for my sins will help me live so I can return to Heavenly Father. Knowing that Heavenly Father loves me and will help me with every challenge I face, and that I can return to live with him again because of the sacrifice of His Son Jesus Christ is the most important knowledge I have. Every time I read the Book of Mormon, listen to the living prophet and apostles, and pray to Heavenly Father, this important truth is reconfirmed in my heart through the power of the Holy Ghost.

How I live my faith

The most important things I do every day are to pray to my Heavenly Father, read the scriptures, and find some way to serve someone else, whether that is someone in my family or in my neighborhood. I regularly visit women who live near me and try to encourage and help them. I help in an elementary school by making educational games and activities and helping the classroom teacher. For many years I have taught lessons from the scriptures in Sunday School to teenagers and to adults. I now teach Sunday School to elderly residents in an assisted living center. They are wonderful people. I love reading about the Savior in the New Testament, and in the Book of Mormon. As I learn more of His teachings from the scriptures I am trying to follow his example in serving and loving others.
