Hi I'm Colby

I'm a Mormon! Word.

About Me

I was born in Colorado and raised in Utah! I have been living in Utah for about twelve years now. I graduated high school in 2011. I served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in South Carolina speaking spanish! I love serving the Lord and helping others learn about how they can be happy and find peace now and for the future!I love to mountain bike and fish with my buddies, go camping with my friends and my family, and I love being outside! I enjoy playing the acoustic guitar and golfing! Golf is a big hobby of mine and I love to go out with my family and friends and swing away. My father wishes he could beat me! I have been raised in the Church and have learned so much from my parents and great teachers that have motivated us to become better people and effective tools in the hand of God.

Why I am a Mormon

My mother has always been a Mormon and I have been raised a Mormon my whole life. My father wasn't a Mormon when he first met my mother, but then later converted. Although I was raised a Mormon, I just thought the church was like any other. As I grew older and wanted to know the truth, I starting reading the Book of Mormon and it made me feel like there is something more to life. I have without a doubt felt the influence of the Holy Ghost, and it has made an impression on my heart and soul, and I know that the Holy Ghost cannot lie! I felt happy and I felt more loved than I have ever felt in my life. From these experiences I knew that the church is true. I am a Mormon because I have the hope of knowing what happens after death and that I can live forever with my family, that I can be forgiven of sins, and that I can have peace and happiness in life through a correct understanding of the Savior and his purpose! I continue to read the scriptures, attend church, and learn more about Christ and how to become like him. That is why I served a mission for the Church; to teach others about the Gospel and how it can change their lives as it has changed mine. I don't know where I would be without the Gospel but I am thankful I am member of the church. It is a great blessing and in the long run, it is the only way to have true happiness!

How I live my faith

I live my faith by putting my faith into action! l try to help and serve others. I believe that it starts with one person to change the world by a loving act of kindness. I live by trying my best to do what Christ would do if he were here now. Striving for obedience and leading others to Christ the life to live!

How can I know Mormonism is true?

The way to know if the church is true is read the Book of Mormon! Read it daily and ponder the words you have read. After reading and pondering, ask Heavenly Father if the book is true. Through good feelings and thoughts the Holy Ghost will testify that the Book of Mormon is true and you will know without a doubt that this book is another testament of Christ and teaches us how to live happy lives. What do Mormons believe is the purpose of life?

The purpose of this life is to perform our labors and prepare to meet God! By experiencing the good and bad of life, we learn and grow and find out that true happiness only comes from obedience! This is the time to show God that we love and have faith in him, and this life is a test to see if we do all things that he has commanded us to do. Show more Show less
