Hi I'm Larry

I'm a Mormon. I drive cab in a small town in Missouri

About Me

I am a 61 year old single male with six kids that have grown and are on their own. I drive cab in a small town and love to metal detect but don't have much time to do it. I am looking forward to retirement within the next few months so I can get in some travel to see my kids and grand kids and ebjoy my hobby.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a 61 year old single male that has watched his children grow up and leave home without the benefit of ever learning about our savior. I met the missionaries while sitting in my cab one day in late may of 2008 and felt the spirit that was with those two young ladies. I was baptized in July 2008 and have embraced the restored Gospel of Jesus Christ. I enjoy metal detecting and look forward to semi retirement in the next year so I can find time for it. After I retire I will be moving back to Nebraska to be by two of my six children and hope to rectify the problem of them not knowing or understanding our savior. Upon accepting the Missionaries commitment to read and pray about the truth of the Book of Mormon I was surprised at how fast I knew in my heart that this was the true church. I have been a member about three and a half years now and am still amazed at the difference there is in my life.

How I live my faith

As a cab driver I am not allowed to prosolyte, however I do read from the Book of Mormon when I am just sitting waiting for a call so it is often sitting next to me when I pick up customers and often their curiosity about it gives me the opportunity to testify as to the truthfulness of it. As a ward mission leader I help to keep the ward missionaries and full time missionaries organized meet with them often to see how their work is progressing. I also work with the members in trying to find people for the missionaries to teach.

To what do you attribute the growth of the Church?

Larry
It is my opinion that the rapid growth of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints can be attributed to a number of different reasons such as the rapid decay of moral standards throughout the world. The constant threat of war and devastating natural diasters being just a few. As the Gospel of Jesus Christ is taught to those that are prepared and they realize the truth of it. Their options are drasticly reduced to either join the true church and reap the blessings or ignore the commandments of our Father in Heaven and suffer the consequences. As you read the Gospel with an open heart and mind and discover that in fact Joseph Smith was a true Prophet of God just as is President Thomas S. Monson today and that we are in fact living in the latter days you too will be prompted by the Holy Ghost to join this the true church of Jesus Christ. Show more Show less
