Hi I'm Robert

I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

About Me

I framed custom homes in Washington State for over 15 years until the economy took a turn. Graduated from ITT Technical Institute in 2009 with a degree in Computer Drafting and Design. Currently, I am Retail Service Specialist for O'Reilly Auto Parts in Pinetop AZ. I grew up in an environment where drugs and alcohol were predominate. At an early age, I began to experiment with these chemicals and found myself with a dependency that would last with me until my late thirties. In December of 2004, I quit smoking, drinking and doing drugs all on the same day with the help of my Savior and two missionaries that did not give up on me! Since then, I have married a wonderful woman and gained three children. All together, we have 7 children with one getting ready to go on a mission!

Why I am a Mormon

Even though I grew up in a bad environment, I had grandparents (on both sides) that took every possible opportunity to take me to church with them. I also had an aunt that took me to Primary (back in the day when it was during the week). I feel deep gratitude for these family members never giving up on me! It is because of their involvement and the influence of the Gospel in my life that I had some kind of moral compass. Later, during my high school years, I attended two years of seminary. During this period of my life is when I gained a testimony of The Book of Mormon and of my Savior, Jesus Christ. It was these encounters and the knowledge of the truth that led to my conversion in 2004. I became tired of living the opposite of what I knew to be true! I am a Mormon because of the true happiness and joy it brings to be living the way our Heavenly Father wants us to live! I am no longer a slave to addictions of drugs and alcohol.

How I live my faith

Currently, I have a calling as an assistant 11 year old Scout Leader. Scouting has always run strong in my family and I love working with these young men to prepare them for challenges that may arise in their life. I have also served as a Sunday School teacher to the youth, a calling I really enjoyed!
