Hi I'm Mandy

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My name is Mandy and I am 19. Most people characterize I am currently at Brigham Young University of Idaho studying to become a Psychiatrist for those who have mental disorders. I love to hang out with my friends and I love to run. I am artsy and love to read my scriptures so my love for my Savior and this gospel can grow even more.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was 16 years old, I met at a friend from school. He was 2 years older me but as we grew closer, I felt a special goodness about him, something I'd never felt before. We began dating for a few months until he left on his mission. I never really understood what a mission was, what missionaries do and who they were but the day he left, his mom had presented me with a Book of Mormon with his testimony written in it. His mom challenged me to read it and it was then that I noticed how curious I was about religion. So I read it! She told me to remember to pray to be guided by The Holy Ghost that I would be able to understand what I was reading. My adventure began and as the days went by, I found myself understanding the book more and more while feeling The Holy Ghost bear witness to me that this was the truth. Once I was halfway through, I began thinking of being baptized so I got lessons from the missionaries. They taught me many things about the gospel and when it was time to commit to following the commandments, I immediately said yes; I wasn't going to let anything stop me from obtaining the happiness in full that I was feeling while reading. I was so taken by that special feeling that it only took me a month and a week to read those 531 pages. The missionaries told me that I needed to pray to see if it was true, I felt I almost didn't need to but when I did, I felt an ultimate and bright Yes! I got baptized without a doubt in my mind that this gospel is true and I will never regret my experience.

How I live my faith

Today, in living this truth, I am so much brighter, happier and filled with hope that I have confidence in doing anything. I go to church every Sunday, participate in much as I can in activities we have every Wednesday, and any chance I get to do any kind of activity that is church related (such as calling), I always say yes. This gospel has given me a true purpose, a love from my Heavenly Father that’s greater than anything in this life. The people I have been given the opportunity to meet through and around church have left an extraordinary impression on my soul; each one has given me an experience that has helped me in my life that I will never forget. The people of our church are beautiful people and all they want is to help and love everyone. This is the true gospel of Jesus Christ.
