Hi I'm Alyssa

I love the simple things. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a part of a hodgepodge family that I love with all my heart. I have half siblings, whole siblings, the whole shebang. Despite the trials that we've had, we have all experienced joy to exceed any sorrow. When I grow up I hope to create a faithful family and be an influence for good.

Why I am a Mormon

I am Mormon because, yes, I was born to parents who are members of the church. But I am still a Mormon because I strive to do those things that God has asked us to. When I was really converted, it was because I chose to read the Book of Mormon in high school. From then on, I kept reading. I don't know how many times I've read the Book of Mormon but it doesn't matter. I know that it is the word of God, and I know that because I pray about it all the time. Reading about the Savior in the scriptures has brought more comfort to my soul than any other thing I can think of.

How I live my faith

I believe those simple things that you can and should do every day (pray, read the scriptures, go to church, etc.) are the things that keep you close to God. Every day is a chance to learn about Jesus Christ, whether it be by reading about Him in the scriptures or by serving others as He would. I get the opportunity to grow everyday and I am grateful for that. As I continued doing those simple things during my first year of college, I realized it was time for me to go on a mission. Currently, I am serving the Lord in the Tennessee Nashville Mission.
