Hi I'm Dale

I spent most of my growing up years in San Diego, California. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was married in a protestant church in my hometown. My husband was offered a teaching job in a different part of the state so we left for a new area. We have 5 children, 4 girls and 1 boy. As a teenager I loved to spend my weekends sewing clothes and as I had children I sewed their clothes. I love gardening. Working in the yard is a type of therapy for me. I home schooled my 3 youngest children and thoroughly enjoyed it. After raising my children I started working at a Charter homeschool and spent just under 10 years there. I love spending time with my children and grandchildren and look forward to spending time serving others on a full time mission.

Why I am a Mormon

I was newly married and the missionaries knocked on our door after a referral from my husband's cousin. We thought we were too busy at the time and told them to check back with us at the end of baseball season, my husband was a coach. They started to teach us and we had many questions. After about 5 weeks we heard about the Lord's plan of salvation for His children. It was so simple and it felt like I was home. Both my husband and I had a feeling inside that we didn't quite know how to explain at the time. After the missionaries left we both went into separate rooms and prayed. We immediately knew the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints was the Lord's church on the earth. We hadn't even read anything nor had we been to any church services. It was a completely spiritual conversion. We were baptized 4 months later after we moved to our new location to accept my husband's first teaching job. I have never looked back and have never doubted what I experienced. I continue to be actively involved because I feel it is a great way to be restrengthened every day. I am happy and it feels good to live in a way that Christ has taught so I am always trying to be better.

How I live my faith

Since joining the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints I have taught children at church from 3 years to 17, as well as women of all ages. I have organized summer camps for young women ages 12 - 18 and been a cub scout den leader for the Boy Scouts of America. I have learned much from my fellow church members as I have matured in my spiritual education. I enjoy praying with my family as well as alone which continues to help in that education. Helping my family and friends gives me great satisfaction inside. It has also been a wonderful blessing for me to help one day a week in the Los Angeles Temple.
