Hi I'm Kristin

I'm a wife, infertility survivor, & expectant mother of twin boys through IVF. I'm a graphic designer & blogger. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I married my best friend 3 years ago. We found out right after we got married that having children would be really hard for us. We did IVF this past summer and are expecting twin boys in March. My testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ was the biggest strength through our first bout with infertility. It gave me peace, comfort, and courage to move forward. Feel free to come visit our blog, e-mail or facebook me to find out more. My husband will start chiropractic school next fall. We love healthy food, playing mario on the wii, taking road trips, dancing, bargain shopping, refinishing furniture, throwing parties and playing nertz together. Until our boys get here, my spare time is filled with sewing, cooking, blogging, crafting, and designing. I have a side business where I design custom wedding, baby, and graduation announcements. I love typography. I love injecting personal meaning into the little things around our home. I believe a home should look lived-in, not like a page out of a catalog. And I can't wait to start seeing the signs of two little boys around our house.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because by living the commandments and teachings I have discovered a new freedom and joy that I have not found any other way. In high school, I started to question everything and went through a time of confusion and frustration. When I took a step back and realized I was not living by the principles of the gospel, I got down on my knees and asked my Heavenly Father to know if the Book of Mormon was true, if our prophet was a true messenger of God and if everything I had been taught by my parents was true. My answer did not come all at once, but from that night, I had a whispering in my heart that said "Yes." Since then, every commandment I turn into a habit helps my testimony to grow and my answer becomes stronger and stronger. I cannot imagine going through the trial of infertility without the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and its teachings. The peace I enjoy because of the knowledge I have is irreplaceable to me. I am a member of this church because I know its teachings are true. I am a member of this church because I have received a personal assurance that it is true. And I am happy to answer any questions about how I received that personal assurance or how it has helped me with infertility and building our family.

How I live my faith

I currently serve in the primary presidency in my ward. This means that I work with children ages 3-11. I teach them basic gospel principles and songs on Sunday. I also live my faith by working on our home. We have family home evening every Monday night. I keep scriptures of strength displayed prominently in our home. We have family prayer and scripture study each evening. And in the mornings, now, I have begun the habit of daily personal scripture study. I am constantly amazed by the difference it makes in my day! My husband and I love throwing parties, so every now and again we are asked to plan a party for our ward (the members of the church that live in our area.) We planned the Christmas party last year and had a blast! I love how the social and spiritual sides of the church come together at events like that. Some of my best friends have been made because of church activities.
