Hi I'm Tim

I grew up the son of a turkey farmer. I love to camp and fish. I love to be with family. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the 6th child out of 9 children. I am married and have 6 of my own children. Basically lived my whole life in the same town. I am an eagle scout and serve as a volunteer fire fighter. I love watching old time television shows (Andy Griffith, Dick Van Dyke). I love working on the farm. I really enjoy being in the mountains with my family and friends. I love serving in my community. I enjoy learning about other people's experiences of life. I try my best to follow the teachings of Jesus Christ, my Savior.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormon). I didn't always know that it was true. At the age of 18 I was trying to decide if I believed in the church and would then serve a mission for the church. All young men are encouraged to prepare to serve a mission at age 19. I wasn't sure that I knew enough to serve a mission. At the time I was going to college and needed to have some answers. I read and prayed to Heavanly Father to know what to do. One night I received an overwhelming answer to my prayers. It brought tears to my eyes. I didn't have a vision and I didn't hear any voices. It was just an incredible feeling of peace and joy that overcame me. It lasted for what seemed to be several minutes. The feelings from that night are still very vivid in my mind and in my heart. It has sustained me throughout my life.

How I live my faith

I currently serve as a leader of about 2500 people. It is a completely voluntary calling. The only compensation is the great satisfaction I have trying to help make someone's life just a little better. I have served in this calling for about 16 years. Prior to that, I served over a congregation of about 400. I have learned so much about people through serving them. They have many trials and challenges and yet so many of them never complain. They give of themselves to their families and communities despite the personal problems they have to deal with. They strengthen me by their faithfulness and it motivates me to want to try to be a better person. I try to serve in my community. I have served as a city councilman and also on the volunteer fire department. I also served as a scoutmaster for about 3 years. I loved working with the youth. I served for about 5 years on our community's 4th of July committee which was responsible for helping to plan our 4th of July celebration. I love serving others.
