Hi I'm Katie

I am a mom. I love a good laugh. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Just after high school, I traveled to China for 4 months and volunteered at a boarding school teaching english to the children there. It was a life changing experience and I am forever grateful for the impact it has had on my life. I have worked in the dental field for 11 years now. I was first trained as a dental assistant. Later, I went on to complete my degree and became a dental hygienist. I enjoy what I do but my best accomplishment to date is that I am a mom to a wonderful little boy and soon to have another little boy. I am excited to see my family grow. I have been married for a little over 5 years and can honestly say I was blessed to find the perfect man for me. We like to spend time together as a family. We like watching movies, spending time outdoors and doing fun things together as a family.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised as a member of the church and have been active all my life. I am grateful for the friendships and lasting relationships I have gained through my membership in the church. I have had challenges in my life, as in the lives of most. I lost my oldest brother when I was a junior in high school. After I was married, we suffered 4 miscarriages before we were blessed with our sweet son. We have seen some financial hardship through the years and have had other struggles that families often face. I state these struggles in no way to look for pity. I reflect on these to testify of how my faith in Christ has seen me through these trials. I can look back on these chapters in my life and see the comfort and strength that the church has brought me. I can see, with clearer perspective, the love of my Heavenly Father and how He sees us through these things. I know He sees a bigger picture and sends comfort to get us through them. Being on the upside of these things, I can see now that God will not give us things that we cannot handle and that we will be given the strength we need.

How I live my faith

I have volunteered in many postitions in the church. I have been able to coach the younger girls in sporting activities. I have organized our ward activities and parties. I have taught the children Sunday School. I have worked with my husband in the boy scouting program. I have had a variety of oppertunities to serve. I currently teach the women in our church. One Sunday a month, I teach an all womens class focusing on increasing our faith and improving home and family. I have been blessed to do this and believe that when I teach a lesson, I get so much more out of the lesson than I otherwise would. I have really loved it.
