Hi I'm Richard Wadsworth

I am a husband and father. I am a pre-Medical student. I like mixed martial arts. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

More than anything, I love my family. I have an incredible wife and two adorable children. I grew up spending my summers in Alaska as a commercial fisherman. In high school I played football, wrestled, did plays (theater), and track. I love Jiu-jitsu (mma), exercising (especially lifting weights and running). I like to play guitar, and enjoy art (pencil drawing). I am currently pursuing a degree in Osteopathic Medicine. http://richardwwadsworth.blogspot.com/

Why I am a Mormon

When I was a kid I decided to find out for myself about God. I read the Book of Mormon every day for months. One day I was reading about Jesus Christ. I felt something that I have never felt before. My heart was filled with love more powerful than I could have ever imagined. I KNEW that God lived and loved me. I couldn't have been any stronger than if He were standing right in front of me. Since that time I have have many such experiences. Each one testifies that Jesus is the Christ and that He is doing His work on the Earth through His restored church, The church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints.

How I live my faith

I go to church every week. In church there is a class that teaches virtues in a scriptural and historical context. I am encouraged to be honest, work hard, help others, show love and many other such things to follow Christs example. The encouragement helps me to be a better person. There is another class that I can go to instead if I want. The class is about how to be a better husband and father. They teach lots of lessons that help me to do better. It is so helpful! Then I go and partake of bread and water and think about all that Jesus did for me. Some members of the church give talks-- sometimes I give a talk too. The talks are about how to follow Jesus through obedience and faith. I also go to the Temple of the Lord Jesus Christ. The temple is a place where I can pray and meditate about my life and my family. I can go and watch a video that reminds me about the purpose of life and then recommit myself with others to follow the example of Jesus Christ and serve in His church. I can also help to perform sacred ordinances like baptism in behalf of people who did not have the opportunity to receive these ordinances during their life. Its really sacred and special. Every day I read my scriptures and say prayers with my family. This helps me have the Spirit of the Lord with me. Each Monday my family has something called Family Home Evening. We have a lesson, song, prayer, and a treat. I look for opportunities to serve in my community as much as reasonably possible. I try to keep myself clean from sins as much as possible. If anyone ever makes a mistake and sins, they can repent and go see the Bishop if it is serious and they need help. The Bishop is very helpful.
