Hi I'm Matthew

I write. I build websites. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

About me? Well, I recently married the love of my life. We are now expecting our first child, a little boy. I graduated from Brigham Young University-Idaho in English back in 2009. Ever since then I have been working for an accounting company building websites, writing articles, creating digital products, and more. I love going to the movies, reading a good book, eating at new restaurants, and finding great deals. I served a mission for the Church in Birmingham, Alabama.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a family that is members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, but as I have grown up, I have had to decide for myself to stay a member of the church. Some of the things that helped me decide to stay a member are the peace and joy that come from the teachings of the church. I love that each day I know where I come from and what this life is all about. I don't question the difficult times I have. Instead I try to understand what God wants me to learn from my experiences and how I can become a better person because of them.

How I live my faith

I live my faith each day by trying to think of our Savior Jesus Christ and what He would do if he were in my place. Also, each week I attend church where I have accepted an assignment to teach local 5-year-old children the gospel. In addition to this my Ward (congregation) has asked me to visit three families who are also in my Ward each month. I love getting to know these families and sharing my love for Jesus Christ with them.

What will the Mormon missionaries talk about when they visit my home?

Matthew
When the missionaries come to your home, they will share a message about Jesus Christ and His plan for each of us on Earth and after this life. They will also teach you about the ways in which God speaks to us today. They love questions and they can find any answer you are looking for. But remember, be nice to them; they work 12 hours a day trying to share their message with everyone they can. Show more Show less
