Hi I'm Kathleen

I grew up in a Military Family in Va. I am working on creating a non-profit. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in a military family, and I am the youngest of 5. I was always taught to stand up for what you believe in, be strong for those around you, and know that everyday can be a better day if you put your heart into it. Growing up with this attitude I have made numerous friends of all races, religions, and sexual preference. Everyone I hold dear to my heart, and view all of them as members of my family. I am on my second marriage, and have two great kids (one from my first, and one from my current). I have worked "across" many industries which has given further exposure in my life. I went to school for nursing, have 3 degrees in management/ medical management, and current work in banking.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church, but my parents still gave me a choice. For me the choice was easy. My father passed away when I was 3 years old, and my mother became my father to us 5 kids. I learned in the church that families are together forever - in this life and the next. That we have the ability to be sealed to each other, and this knowledge helped me deal with my loss. I knew that just because I couldn’t see him now, it didn’t mean I would never see him again - or have the life with my father that I always wanted. The church helped answer so many questions throughout my life, which I have never been able to find in any religion. And believe me when I say I tried them all.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to do "better everyday". I remember that I am human, and see all the simple pleasures in life. Like the wind blowing, and how the moon sits in the sky. I live my faith by visiting teaching, helping those around me, and seeing people for what they are "people". No one on this earth is any different than you or I, and we are all family (in good times and in bad).

What is the Relief Society?

Relief society is an organization for women. It was formed to help those in need, to provide "relief" to those around them. In relief society we are given the chance to learn from other women, build our faith, and form bonds of sisterhood that are unbreakable. Show more Show less
