Hi I'm Gerald Kay Christensen

I was born in Idaho, worked and retired from the railroad, and officiated high school sports. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I've lived in Idaho all my life and worked for over 30 years for the Union Pacific Railroad as a Carman. I'm married to Donita Hunter, and we are the parents of 10 children, 6 from my first maarage, and 4 from hers. I've officiated high school sports for the last 40 years, and continue to do so. I've been retired for the last 7 years, and spend my time golfing, volunteering, and baby-sitting grandkids, I have 24 of them. I consider myself "living the dream".

Why I am a Mormon

I am a 5th generation morman. My great grandfather, Neils Christensen, joined the Church in Denmark, and immigrated to Utah. My great gramdmother moved to Idaho when Neils died, and the family has lived here ever since. It's not that being a morman is a tradition, It is a fact that I have known of it's truethfulness since I was a little boy. It is who I am. It is the reason that my life is one of joy. It makes me a better husband, father, and person. I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is true. We are led by a modern day prophet, Thomas S. Monson. This is Christ's Church. Of this I testify.

How I live my faith

I am deeply involved with the Church in my daily life. I officiated at the Idaho Falls Temple for 4 years, and helped with the sports programs at the Young Single Adult 1st Stake, which usually involves basketball, volleyball, or softball 2 nights a week. I served a mission with my wife in Johannesburg, South Africa, and am preparing to serve with her in Paris, France.
