Hi I'm Scot

Family is very important to me. I love reading, chess and mathematics. I'm a programmer/analyst and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm the father of six wonderful children. I met my sweetheart while attending Brigham Young University. I passion is playing games. Mostly I play backgammon, Settlers of Catan, Carcassonne and chess. I served a mission in Madrid, Spain.

Why I am a Mormon

I know the Book of Mormon is true. It is another testament of Jesus Christ. The principles of the book bring me nearer to God. The Book of Mormon gives explanations of the saving principles of faith, repentance and following Christ. God blesses me with knowledge of these principles when I ask Him in sincere prayer.

How I live my faith

I helped organize a clothing distribution project at our local church building. Church headquarters in Salt Lake City delivered 12 tons of clean used clothing, coats and bedding. I organized our congregation’s efforts to invite needy members in the community to come and receive free items that they needed. About 80% of the items were given to the needy. The remaining items were donated to the Salvation Army. Visitors and new members are always welcomed to the LDS Church with open arms. I love to fellowship and help with teaching those who are learning. I love to share the gospel! An important thing I do every week is to have a family home evening with my family in my home. We sing songs, recite memorized scriptures, have a short gospel message and pray. We always share some good dessert and usually have a spirited game of some kind. We often invite guests to our home meetings; usually new members or people who are investigating the LDS Church.

How can we increase our faith in Jesus Christ?

Scot
Faith is like a seed. It must be planted in fertile ground and nourished for it to grow. You can plant the seed of faith in Jesus Christ by studying His words and trying to understand God's will. You can nourish your faith in Jesus Christ by changing the way you live so that you live in harmony with the teachings of Jesus. This is true for me, and I know it can is true anyone who will to make the sacrifice. Show more Show less
